FAQ
Questions people ask first.
If yours is not here, email support@sayforth.app and a person will read it.
The program
What do I actually do each day?
You answer one question out loud. You talk for about a minute, and the whole day takes about 5 minutes. When you finish, Sayforth draws your answer as a single line and shows you one change to try: your own words with the main point marked, and the coach’s rewrite with the main point first. Then you can say it again in 30 seconds.
What is the answer line?
One horizontal line per answer, drawn after you finish speaking. A solid stroke is speech. A gap is a pause, exactly as wide as the pause was long. The thick part is your main point. A small notch in the line is a softener word, like “I think” or “kind of.” Nothing else is drawn, so every mark means something.
Does the screen show anything while I speak?
The question, a warm recording dot, quiet elapsed time, and one quiet line that moves with your voice, so you know it is listening. It shows how loud the sound coming in is, nothing more: no scores, no tips mid-answer. The analysis appears after you tap Finish: your answer as a line, with its pauses, main point and softener words.
Is it only for interviews?
Interviews are where most people start, because the date makes practice urgent. The same plan works for meetings: updates, opinions, decisions. You choose Interview, Meetings, or Both on the first screen, and you can change it later.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing bad. Practice the next day and you can make up a missed day, up to 2 a week on either plan. The days before still stand. After two quiet days the app offers a short comeback session.
What happens on Day 30?
You answer your Day 1 question again, without hearing Day 1 first. Then both answers are drawn on one clock, with one takeaway, such as getting to your main point sooner, and you can hear Day 1 and Day 30. The evidence is your own two recordings.
What is in the Play tab?
Load and Launch, a crate puzzle. Each level asks one question and hands you a messy answer, loaded as crates. You cut what does not belong, put your point at the bow, swap in a better phrase, and sail. There are 180 levels in five islands, and each level ends with a way to say the answer for real in Today. See how it plays.
What happens after Day 30?
You choose what is next. Start another 30-day plan: Interviews, and Meetings and speaking up, are ready at launch, and more are coming, starting with Hard conversations. Or keep practicing with one question a day, about 5 minutes. Or tell Sayforth about something coming up, such as a real interview, presentation, review or hard conversation, and get a short plan that ends the day before.
Can I prepare for a specific job?
Yes. Paste the job listing, or share it to Sayforth from Safari, and Sayforth reads it and builds practice questions from what the listing asks for, with a plan that ends the day before your interview. These are practice questions written from the listing. They are not the employer’s questions, and Sayforth is not connected to the employer. The listing stays on your iPhone until you delete it, and our server does not keep it. The Daily coaching plan includes the full interview practice. In your free coaching week you get the full interview practice too. After that, the free plan includes a preview of 1 listing every 7 days: 1 question in full, and the rest of the set listed as locked.
Does Load and Launch make me a better speaker?
It practices the shape of a strong answer: the point first, no padding, no hedges. It is not a replacement for the daily spoken answer, so every level ends with a way to answer the same question out loud in Today.
Coaching
Do you score me?
No. There is no overall score or grade on any screen or in any notification. You see observations against your own Day 1. When a number has not really moved, Sayforth says it is about the same.
What about my accent?
Sayforth does not score pronunciation or accent and will not. It looks at your pace, where your pauses land, your softener words, and when you get to your main point, which matter regardless of how you sound.
Why do you not count filler words?
Because the count would not be honest. Speech recognizers often drop words like um before they reach the transcript, so any number we showed could be wrong. When fillers matter, the coach quotes the moment from your answer instead, such as “so, um,” with the time it happened. It never counts or scores them.
Is there a daily limit on the Daily coaching plan?
No daily limit for normal use. If you send more than 150 answers in one day, coaching slows to 1 answer every 20 minutes for the rest of that day, and the app says so: “Take a breather. Coaching comes back in a few minutes.” Your answers are still measured on your iPhone while it waits. What normal use means.
Is this an AI wrapper?
No. Your iPhone measures your pace, your pauses, your softener words and how long you talked. With AI coaching on, AI finds your main point and writes what to work on, including a rewrite of your own words. With AI coaching off, your iPhone makes a simple guess at your main point and writes a short summary. The product is the 30-day plan and its structure.
What is Say it again?
After the coaching, one button: say the same answer again in 30 seconds, with the coach’s first sentence. Sayforth measures the retry on your iPhone and shows the one number that changed, such as how long it took to get to your main point, first answer against the retry. Say it again is free: 2 a day, or 10 a day with the Daily coaching plan. Your coach also reads the retry and adds a sentence about it, during your free coaching week and on the Daily coaching plan.
What are my coach’s notes?
A short book your coach writes from your answers: where you stand, what is working, what is holding you back, your plan, and your numbers and past notes. It starts after your second answer and grows as you practice. With AI coaching on, a new version is written every few answers from a summary of measured facts and a few short quotes of your own words. The notes are saved on your iPhone, and the inside cover keeps lines you can edit or clear. After your free coaching week, past notes and numbers stay and new notes are sealed until you subscribe.
Privacy
Does my audio leave my iPhone?
No. Your recordings stay on your iPhone. We never upload your audio. Only the text of what you said is sent for coaching.
Do you train AI models on my recordings?
No. Your recordings never leave your iPhone, so they cannot be used to train anything. OpenAI writes your coaching. Your words are not used to train AI models. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
What happens to a job listing I paste?
The listing text is sent once to our server and OpenAI to read it and write your practice questions. Our server removes email addresses, phone numbers and links first, and it does not keep the listing. The listing stays on your iPhone until you delete it, in Your listing.
How do I delete my data?
Settings, then Account. Signed out, tap Delete all data to remove your recordings, transcripts and progress from the phone and the device records from our backend. Signed in, tap Delete account, then choose whether to keep your practice on your iPhone or delete it too. You do not need an email to do either.
Does Play record me?
No. Play is played with your fingers and never listens. It keeps which levels you finished and your medals on your iPhone, and nothing else.
Pricing
Is the free plan a demo?
It is the real plan. You get daily practice in full: every question, practice every day with no limit, measured on your iPhone, your 30 days page, and the Day 30 comparison. Every answer gets your numbers, plus a short summary and your one change, written by your iPhone. Say it again is free too, 2 a day. Play’s first island, 36 levels, is free. Your AI coaching is free for your first 7 days, with no card needed. After that, the Daily coaching plan adds AI coaching on every answer, new Coach’s notes, the full interview practice from a job listing, every 30-day plan, and the other four islands of Play. On the free plan you can try Day 1 of each other plan.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from your iPhone: Settings, then Apple Account, then Subscriptions, then Sayforth. No call, no email, no retention flow. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and the free plan keeps working after that.
Is anything free to try?
Yes, and it needs no card. Your AI coaching is free for 7 days from your first coached answer, with no subscription, and a friend’s code adds 7 more. Neither plan starts with an offer from Apple: when you subscribe, Apple charges $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year from that day (the founding price is $49.99 a year). After the free days, the free plan keeps daily practice and your numbers on every answer.
What is the founding price?
$49.99 a year on the yearly plan, for people who subscribe in the first 90 days after launch. You keep $49.99 a year for as long as your subscription stays active. If it ends, you can resubscribe at that price within 60 days. After that, the current price, $59.99 a year, applies. Subscription terms.
Is Play free?
The first island, The Approach, is free: 36 levels. The other four islands, 36 levels each, 144 in all, are part of the Daily coaching plan.
Do I need to sign in?
Not to practice, and not for your first coached answer. After that, Sign in with Apple is needed for AI coaching, Coach’s notes, interview practice from a job listing, the referral program, joining a crew, and to buy the Daily coaching plan, because those run on our server. It shares no email with us. Signed out, your answers are still recorded and measured on your iPhone. Restore purchases works while signed out, and your recordings stay on your iPhone either way.
Can I give Sayforth to a friend?
Yes. In Settings, Give a friend a free week shares your code. A friend who is new to Sayforth gets 14 days of free AI coaching in all, with no card. If they subscribe, you get a free month after their first paid charge, up to 6 a year. Referral Terms.
Day 1
This is where we start.
Nothing to get right.
Day 1 is one question and about a minute of your voice. It is your starting point, not a test. Free to start. Your first coached answer needs no sign-in and no payment. Practice without an account; sign in with Apple for more coaching.
iPhone, iOS 26 or later.
